Create macros from Octatrack

First up, apologies for the extremely basic question.
My goal is to send a single CC message from my Octatrack in MIDI mode and have it control several CC’s in my Analog Four MK2.
Essentially emulating the “Quick Performance” knob on the AF2.

I get a feeling this is BOME translator 101, but for some reason, I’m not getting how to do it.
Many thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the Bome Forum!

Could you post an example of what you want to do.

  1. Incoming CC Value and MIDI Channel
  2. Resultant outgoing MIDI you want to send?

Hey Steve,
thanks so much for the reply
The Analog Four MK2 has a “Quick Performance” knob that can act as a macro to control multiple parameters. The only issue being is that you can’t actually assign a CC to it from the Octatrack!

Apologies if you know all of this BTW.

So what I’m trying to do is send a single CC message from the Octatrack and assign it to multiple parameters in the Analog Four.

The outgoing CC from the OT can be assigned to anything, so for argument’s sake let’s say “CC 3” on MIDI channel 1.
I want the Analog Four to receive the original CC3 on MIDI channel 1 but to also control CC4, CC5 and CC9.
Basic macro stuff.

Many thanks
Ian

Try this. If you want different CC values, you can add rules accordingly to each translator.

Hi Steve,
It worked great!
Added a few more commands and now have essentially created a master macro from the OT to the AF2.
One thing I am experiencing though is lag.
Is there a way to fix this, or is it just what happens using it in this way?
Many thanks

There shouldn’t be any lag. Maybe you have some delays set?

Hey Steve,
I’ll have to look into whether the Elektron settings are introducing delays.
In the meantime are you able to see if there are any delay settings in my .bmtp file?
Thanks again by the way .

I can confirm that there are no delays in your project file. I tested with a log file and the timestamp of outgoing messages and it confirmed all message were going out with no delay.

Thanks, Steve,
I really appreciate your time.
I’ll go digging in Elektron land for the culprit.
all the best
