Does it support iLive systems? Would Bome do translation between iLive and the new Harrison Livetrax DAW allowing an iLive system enjoy all the features available for DLive and other series when used with LiveTrax?
Hi and welcome to the Bome community!
Yes, iLive is supported. You would need Bome MIDI Translator Pro to convert MIDI messages. You would develop the project on PC or Mac and then upload it to BomeBox for execution without a computer.
I’m not familiar with the Harrison Livetrax Daw, however but if it sends MIDI we should be able to have our Bome MIDI Translator Pro project translate between the devices.
Supported devices are shown here.

I was looking up LiveTrax.
LiveTrax seems to use the Allen & Heath MIDI Control app to control mixers and iLive is not on their list so you would need to do translation with Bome MIDI Translator Pro if attaching to an iLive system.
Is there a readily available Preset on MT PRo that would translate iLive’s MIDI Messages format into dLive Midi Messages format? In case not, how hard is to implement that?
I believe Allen&Heath may have developed something but not sure. If so, it probably wouldn’t be specific for LiveTrax unless LiveTrax follows a Mackie MCU protocol. I would check with them first.
The effort for me would be probably about 3 days (and I know what I’m doing with Bome). For a beginning user, probably much longer. I would need to develop it by just using documentation because I don’t own iLive gear. Someone with iLive would need to test it.
If interested in giving it a try, drop me an email or private message. This would be paid engagement as an independent programmer/consultant, so it is best if you explore a bit more to see if someone has an implementation (even partial) already. There are some sample templates for SQ,dLive and QU out there on the forum that might be modelled but not sure how similar iLive is to those products from a MIDI implementation standpoint. I have to think it is different enough since otherwise the A&H Midi Control app probably would already have been updated.

Actually it looks like the dLive and iLive protocols are pretty similar. Did you try using the Allen & Heath MIDI Control app with MixTrak setting it up as a dLive?

Hi, Steve! I tried to connect to Livetrax as if my iLive was a dLive mixer and Livetrax got some track names but the data was scrambled. I need to do further testing indeed. Thanks for your attention!
I see, the iLive only accepts 5 characters for channel names were the dDlive handles 8.
Yes, not only that, but some of the output channels names were displayed as Input channels names on Livetrax…
Maybe the overflow confuses Livetrax.
Here is the iLive MIDI implementation.
And here is the dLive MIDI implementation
Again, it would be doable with Bome MIDI Translator Pro but it will take some time to go through every control available. Also, I assume the iLive, being and older release, would be a subset of what the dLive can do and I’m not sure what dLive features that Livetrax uses that may not be available with the iLive mixer.
